Village life in the heart of Manchester
Macintosh Village is emerging from the ruins of the site where, in the 1820's, the Glaswegian inventor Charles Macintosh created a new textile that combined traditional cotton milling with new rubber smelting techniques. He created a revolutionary new waterproof fabric, known today as the Macintosh.

This tradition of innovation is emphasized in Macintosh Village, an urban renewal site characterised by its detailed forward thinking and the imagination of its architects and planners.

Resurrected original Mill buildings and the development of new constructions with newly designed public open spaces will combine to create a stylish and environmentally friendly community.
